Sculpture VI

First you need to shape the body, than add the limbs the tail, in my case, because i was shaping a dragon, and then add the head. At last we have to clean the textures, and finish off anything that needs finishing off.

Sculpture V

The last step is to paint the mask.
After that we started working with shaping animals from clay.

Sculpture IV

The Paper-maché step.
When received the plaster shell, we have to clean it out from the left over bits of clay and then we need to dab out the whole surface with soap. After that we need to cover it with many layers (advised is 5+) of toilet paper pieces. Then we need to cover it with a nother five+ layers of newspaper pieces. Both the toilet- and the newspapers we sink in glue+water which is mixed in a bowl. Then we wait until it dries. After its dried we pull it from the plaster shell and hey presto, we have our paper-maché mask.

Sculpture III

When done with the clay mask, we pour plaster in many layers on the clay, so we get a plaster shell afterwards, which will then work as our negative for the paper-maché step.

Sculpture II

Second class we begun to start making masks.
To make a mask first you have to shape it from clay. This is what we spent most of our time with at that class. You have to give dimension and curve to the mask, so when you go to the next step you get a good imprint from plaster.

Sculpture I

First class.
We have been experimenting with different imprints on a 10x10 block of clay.
We had to use different objects to create the imprints, from pens, bottles, keys through your fingers to plugs.
